bucket list experience
So, when I was around 23 years old, I was working at a local hospital. Myself along with a couple of other nurses decided we would write a bucket list. There were a few things on the list, one of which was skydiving.
We then decided this was a great idea for us to all go and do!!
This was also the first time EVER I had been on a plane.
The place we chose was Picton Skydiving, about a 1-hour drive from Sydney. The day was clear, not a cloud in the sky! We got our safety briefing and suited up before jumping on the plane. I was all good until the back of the plane opened, and I was next to jump (it was a tandem dive.) I remember turning around and saying/yelling to the guy strapped to my back that I couldn’t do it! He then said: “Yes you can, 1 2 3…….” And we jumped. Once we were out of the plane, I had no hesitations. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The free fall was over too fast, and the glide to the ground was breathtaking! Could see to the Blue Mountains, all the way to the water! Although I did feel slightly nauseous from the jolt of the parachute opening!
I am so glad I got the video and pictures of my skydive, as I never want to forget it.
Although I will never do it again, as I am:
Not as young as I used to be
I am an absolute scaredy cat, and I don’t do anything dangerous anymore
I have a fear of heights!
